​I worked on this project for a year and a half.  I wanted to explore the idea of modern icons and honor women who have changed our world.

Mothers to Humanity acknowledges women throughout history which have forged a trail, educated, defended, lifted up, or illuminated humanity. Their labors have taken them beyond being mere individuals to the status of a timeless “Icon”.   I chose the Madonna imagery and mosaic media, to resonate the profound and enduring contributions these women have made on our journey from primal humanity to present day.
